Oncotrail

Empowering your cancer journey

Oncotrail is an investigation tool that builds on the original Oncotrace. It is designed for specific cancers, i.e. Breast, Colon, Gl, Melanoma, Prostate, and Sarcoma. The purpose of the test is to benchmark the aggressiveness of these tumors as well as to track the current management of these cancers. We use this test to monitor these cancers during cancer treatment and when a patient is in remission. It will check for CTCs as well as provide genetic insights into the nature of the CTCs.

How does Oncotrail work?

Specifically designed for patients with confirmed diagnoses of certain cancers, this test tracks circulating tumor cells (CTCs) to assess their presence and concentration and also markers in cancer to assess origin and activity of cancer cells.

A blood sample is analyzed to identify the presence and concentration of CTCs in the blood, this gives us an idea of the trend of cancer.

Oncotrail also allows for immunophenotyping of the cancer cells, this means that we can elucidate the nature of the cancer cells which would give us information on how aggressive each cell is.

This test act as an acid test for the current management of a cancer protocol. This is vital to the guidance of the therapeutic protocol, for few specific cancers.

What details does the test provide?

CTC Count

This test identifies and measures the circulating tumor cells (CTC) count in the blood.

By analyzing circulating tumor cells in your blood, this test helps monitor treatment effectiveness

A decrease in CTC count indicates the success of treatment protocols.

Phenotype Markers

Oncotrace also reveals phenotype markers which indicate the tissue origin of tumor cells.

For patients diagnosed with cancer, biomarkers can help determine prognosis and identify the risk of recurrence.

These markers assist in various stages of cancer care, from diagnosis to treatment response monitoring.

Stemness Markers

The test measures stem cell markers which reveal the behavior of cancer and their activity in the blood.

Even with low CTC counts, active stemness markers indicate the presence of cancer.

Active stemness markers can indicate different things in different stages, in early-stage cancer, active markers indicate potential spread; in ongoing cancer, it increases the risk of metastasis; in cancer in remission, it could mean the possibility of recurrence.

How does it help?

Tool to monitor the cancer disease burden

Assessment of cancer treatment response

Cancer Stem Cell (CSC) marker study on specific cancer will help us to monitor the nature of the tumor behavior.

Why choose Oncotrail?

Oncotrail has undergone rigorous evaluation to ensure high sensitivity and specificity, making it an invaluable tool for diagnostic purposes.

Through high-precision techniques, the test is used to monitor the effectiveness of a particular cancer treatment. This would objectively provide information on how well the treatment is going.

The non-invasive tracking of the cancer status would notify a treating physician whether to adjust current management or stay the course. This would be important to know in almost real-time rather than to find out much later that a treatment doesn't apply to a particular person.
